Workabout is a marketplace for booking workspace. This notice explains what personal information we collect, why, and what your rights are.
Workabout is run by Workabout Office Solutions Limited, company number 14779506, registered at 2 Burgon Street, London EC4V 5DR (“we”). We are the data controller. To contact us about your data, email support@workabout.com.
What we collect and why
What we hold depends on how you use Workabout.
If you have an account, we hold your name, email address, and optionally a phone number and profile photo. We use these to sign you in, show who made a booking, and send you service messages. Legal basis: our contract with you.
If you book a space, we hold the booking details: which space, the date and time, how many guests, any notes you add, and what you paid. We use these to deliver the booking and handle any problems. Legal basis: our contract with you. We keep payment records for 6 years because tax law requires it.
If you list spaces as a provider, we also hold your company name, company number and payment history. We use these to run your listings, send monthly statements and pay you. Legal basis: our contract with you.
If your employer gives you a Workabout account, they share your name, work email, role and booking budget with us so you can book workspace through their plan. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the service your employer has asked for. You can see and manage your own data once signed in.
If you leave a review, we publish your rating and comment alongside the property. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in honest reviews both sides can trust.
We do not collect any sensitive (special category) data, and Workabout is not for children.
Payments
Card payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never touches our systems. Stripe processes your data under its own privacy notice.
Who else sees your data
We use a small number of services to run Workabout. They process data on our instructions:
- Supabase hosts our database in London
- Clerk handles sign-in and stores your login credentials
- Stripe handles payments
- Vercel hosts the website
- Sentry helps us fix errors
- PostHog gives us usage analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies — analytics data is linked to a random identifier, not your name or email
- Resend sends our emails, such as booking confirmations
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on the UK government’s data bridge to the US or on standard contractual safeguards.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Accounts moved from the old Workabout platform
The new Workabout replaces our previous platform, run by the same company. If you had an account there, we have carried over the minimum needed to keep your account waiting for you: your name, email address and organisation. Nothing else moved — no passwords and no payment details.
No one can sign in to your carried-over account until you claim it by signing up with the same email address. If you would rather we deleted it, email support@workabout.com and we will remove it. Carried-over accounts that stay unclaimed for 12 months, with no listings or bookings attached, are deleted under our retention policy (reviewed at least yearly).
How long we keep things
We keep your account data while your account exists. Booking and payment records are kept for 6 years because tax law requires it. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise everything else, so nothing that identifies you remains. Our error logs delete themselves after 90 days and analytics after 12 months.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of everything we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your data
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests
- ask us to limit what we do with your data while a complaint is resolved
- receive your data in a portable format
Email support@workabout.com and we will respond within one month. Deleting your data is free and we will not ask you why.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

We use strictly necessary cookies to sign you in and take payments. We use analytics cookies only if you accept them in the cookie banner. See the cookie section of the banner for the full list and to change your choice.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we do with your data, we will update this notice and tell you about significant changes by email or when you next sign in.
